I mentioned this in an earlier thread, but maybe it was not seen by someone who knows more than me.

I have a Bush Hog RC, and HF quick hitch. I am thinking I will need the extra HF adapter, because the top link has a bolt/bushing connecting the pivot arm that is just below the top link. I cannot fit the J-hook through the gap.

However, the bolt/bushing is exactly 15" from to bottom pins (quick hitch dimensions), and it actually fits quite nicely using the quick hitch on the pivot-arm bolt. I called a Bush Hog dealer, and then bush hog them self. No one could give me a positive answer on this.

I would agree its an option, however if you can't wait for it, you may have another option or four... Not all would I suggest and none may result in allowing you to stay in your seat when hooking up, however all may allow it to work.

First option would be to replace the J-hook bolts with pins, or at least the top bolt (I would do both). Before hooking up, remove the top pin, thus allowing you to swing the J-hook down enough to fit though the area on the Bush Hog enough to get in between. After you hook up, bring the j-hook up into position and put the top pin in.
** note, if this does not work, remove both pins, fit the j-hook into position, back up and hook the J-hook up with the pins.

Second option, SHACKEL With your shackel, run your bush hog top pin though the shackel, thus giving you the ability to hook the J-hook though the shackel and hook up. You will most likely have to compensate by bringing in or shortening your toplink for the extra inches you will be out.

Third option, remove your top pin before hooking up, and just pin though after your hooked.

Fourth option, if your only missing getting though the area between the top pin by a really small amount, you could grind a very little off the top of your J-hook to get it though. This is the option I would not suggest, but wanted to put it out there.

Just be sure, any option you try is safe and that you take care in what you are doing, while I would never really suggest untested mods, I have been drinking and my idea's just kept comming...

Good Luck, I should be putting mine on this weekend after removing a stump with my BH so I can use my BB and Rake for another project. :D
