Hooked up my 2000 TC30 (bought Feb 2011) yesterday. I bush hogged my horse pasture that was overgrown with goldenrod, poplar, spruce, choke cherry, dogwood, thorn, apple brush. The biggest was 2 in thick and a couple taller than I was on the tractor. First I hit them with the bucket, kept going and ran them over with the bush hog. I bought this bush hog in April. International 5 ft tow behind. Works great once I figured out how to grease/replace oil, hook it up,etc. I've used a sicklebar with my 48 Farmall Cub, but never anything with a PTO shaft. The cub uses a belt/shaft and cam hook up for the bar. I ran it at 1800 RPM M/2. Probably could have run the engine faster, but it was knocking every thing down no problem. Just hearing nothing, then banging when going over bushes, then nothing. It has a slip clutch. That never kicked in when I hit a rock or two . Engine slowed down, but I hit the clutch then re-engaged slowly and moved on.
Earlier I plowed the garden with a 1 share plow and harrowed it with a disk harrow. Plenty of power. Worked great. Good tractor.
