Buying a pickup out of state?

Found exactly what I was looking for.

2006 F350 dually long bed. 57K miles and mint interior. Owner inherited it from his father who pulled a camper back and forth to Florida from Vermont.

Flew to Vermont to pick it up. Was met at airport by the salesman. He drove us to the dealership, signed the papers, and left. Hit peak leaf color in Vermont… I’d highly recommend visiting that time of year, and then made a nice leisurely drive back to Kentucky over the next several days.

Stopped by Appleton Farm in Mass. oldest perpetually farmed ‘farm’ in the US. Since 1634 I believe. Picked up some acorns from a big old oak on the farm.

Anyway, the search paid off, and I found a vehicle with which I am exceedingly familiar and happy with.

Speaking of salting the winter roads. Here in the Spokane area they use some form of liquid. Big tanker truck with spray bar out back. Don't know what they use - BUT sure its just as bad as the sand/salt mix.

I avoid all city roads in the winter. Out where the State Hwy Dept handles the roads - they use "hot sand". Their sand is kept in heated pole sheds. The exhaust from the spreader trucks runs back thru the load of sand to keep it from freezing. Everything being covered - including the sand load in the spreader truck - less moisture in the sand for it to freeze.

Of course - this is all because the IDIOTS want to be able to drive in the winter exactly as they do in the summer. Balls to the wall - no holds barred.

Those of us driving at safe/controlled speeds are swept aside by these raging morons. However - sooner or later they find their ultimate destination is a roadside ditch.

Brine solution, here it’s 2 pounds of rock salt per gallon of water (~25 f). Other places use salt and beet juice (~5F). Some places are using calcium magnesium acetate instead of salt (-17F) supposed to be more eco friendly.
Not sure what the high dollar, earth friendly western states do

Now that I decided to pry open my wallet and buy a truck I can't find one close to home. Anybody have experience buying a vehicle from out of state?

It’s easy to do. You pay the tax in the state where you title it. May need a VIN check in the new state. We buy several off lease work trucks each year from Gowan in TN
