Oil & Fuel BX fuel filters what gives...

Hi guys, while operating my bx25 last week it sputtered a couple times.
Soo i figured maybe my fuel filters were due to be changed.
Looking in manual i believe it said 500 hours.
Well my bx has 188 hours. I only buy fuel from 1 busy Shell station down the street.
Sells a lot of diesel.
Also has always been filtered through a mister funnel...
I had the filters so i said why not change them, they are cheap anyhow.
Well after taking first filter off under tractor it was apparent this was the problem very dirty. But how? Next filter was clean. Tractor runs great again... But i want to upgrade to a b or l style filter. Any links or info appreciated thanks guys...

Go to You Tube and search for Paul Short. Click on his channel he has a lot of good videos up and did one on his BX25D fuel filter conversion. It is a real good video ( they are all good) he shows how to do it and includes the filter part number.

Yes they suck, common problem. Another option is a Racor unit, do a search, that's what I installed on mine.

get one of these. They are only $16 from your Kubota dealer an work great. They are from the B series they said. with a little fabed up bracket by the pump it works great.

Unfortunately, No...The filter on the older B1700 I had had a shut off but the newer style as pictured that is on my B2650 does not.....Must have saved bota a few pennies on the assembly line..Sadly, I am starting to get the feeling that that the new stuff they are building is not living up to the tough and reliable reputation that the company earned in the past.

My B2320 does not have a manual shut off valve but once you remove the bowl there is a spring loaded valve that closes the petcock and prevents fuel from spilling.

abeal....so it automatically shuts the fuel when the bowl is removed? Pretty sure my filter is the same as you describe and I wasn't aware of this. So you do NOT have to pinch off the fuel flow when you replace the filter element?
