BX1500
I have an opportunity buy for a BX1500 for $1,400. I wasn't really looking for a tractor, but have about 3 acres of property and having one would be really handy. I feel like this is a pretty good price, assuming it runs well. It has a LA181 loader on the front and a mower deck I won't really need. No idea what the hours are yet or if there's any other issues. Any comments on the price or functionality of a 1500 would be appreciated.

More importantly, one of the big uses I would have for it would be minor trenching for waste and water lines, so I'd want a backhoe attachment. I live in Florida, so the ground is mostly sand and super easy to dig in, minus some roots. From what I've read, particularly here and here, there are backhoe attachments that will work (Woods BH6000 specifically), even if the 1500 isn't exactly made for it. It looks like the BH6000 is out of production (along with the BX1500) though and I have no idea how often one might pop up for sale near me. It looks like it also needs a subframe? I'm not sure if that's part of the BH6000, or something else I would need to buy. Does anyone know if there are any other backhoe attachments that work on the 1500? Preferably ones that are still in production so that I could get one relatively quick if nothing used pops up near me soon? Or would I be better off passing on this deal and waiting for something larger than the 1500?

I think the only other attachments I might want would be an auger and a scraper, but I don't think either of those would be hard to find or install on this model.

Any other general advice would be appreciated, like I said, this just came up as an opportunity, so I'm doing a lot of research on the fly.

In practically any condition, that tractor is likely already sold. If not sold, I would be very skeptical at $1400.

Thanks, that's one of the ones I linked above that mentions the BH6000. The first one, BX1500 and Woods BH6000, seems a bit more clear that the BH6000 will work. Like I said though, if that's my only option and it's not being produced anymore, it makes it a bit harder to know when and if I'll be able to get one.

As for it being broken/stolen. Maybe broken, not stolen. This was posted by a casual friend on Facebook (not a drinking buddy, but not a rando either), and it's sounding more like their account may have been hacked. I'll try to get a hold of them later, it's a deal I'll jump on, but not unless I can physically meet them at the location and see what the condition is.

Even if the deal goes sideways, it'd be good to know what these little utility tractors are capable of. Now that the idea is in my head, I'm thinking of all kinds of things one would be useful for.

Seems too good to be true… can’t help but wonder if they meant 14000?

sounds like you have diverse needs. plus possibly some unseen. i'd stand back, realistically look ahead & compare your needs to what a tractor that small is capable of. my suggestion is to wait & go bigger. regards,

Have you looked at this tractor in person? If so you should be counting out the bills not making this post. If you haven’t seen it you should definitely do that before you make any payments because it’s 99 percent chance a scam.

If a deal is to good to be true, it isn't. On the off chance it was real, it's gone as that's the kind of deal you drop everything to get, even if it has some issues.
