BX22 new lights; well more like HID install! WOW

Well, after 2.5 years of the horrible lights on my BX22, I bought a cheap(er) pair of HIDS for it.

All I can say is I know my car (with HIDS) was good, but this is amazing.

I mounted one ballast on the frame and one by the radiator. Very easy…Zip-tied the wires to the frame light the original wiring and done.

The HIDS are 6000K

Pretty cool... Is that a factory replacement or something you made up? I've driven some vehicles with them and they are great, especially on the country back roads, can only immagine how they are on a tractor...

Aftermarket. There are places that sell them.

I have another set coming this week to see how it looks. It is 6500K so that is a set back. Higher the lumuns the less output, but look neater.

where did you purchase them, model number, how much do they cost, and will they be too hot for the headlamp lenses that Kubota uses?

I bought the H4 kit.... H4 bulb can be referenced to as a 9003 or an HB2. All the same thing.

I bought them from a guy on Ebay. His site is http://www.purevisionhid.com/

Cost was $177 (cheap). I paid $450 for my Philips with Orsam 6000K and are the best After market you can buy, but that would be a little much for the BX.

And no, they should not melt the lenes. My cars lenses are about 1/3 the thickness of the BX, and have been fine. I also think the BX has glass and not plastic. ..I think.

The heat would be my biggest concern too, I have seen some aftermarket bulbs melt the lamp housing and distort the lens. Hope they work out for you, keep us posted after you've run them a while if you dont mind.

Based on my car, they should not be a problem. Tonight I will leave them on for about 15 to 20 and see how hot they get.

I know they use around 37% less power then the normal lights.

Different plastics react to heat differently. The lights on your car might have Lexan lens and the Kubota might be a polycarbonate lens. The Lexan is a lot tougher in all ways. thanks for the information.
