I purchased a BX24 in June, 2008, but did not buy the mid-mount mower until 10/3/11. After a review of the PTO section of the owner's manual, I did not find a Kubota recommendation for engine rpm to bring the rear pto to 540 rpm or the mid pto to the 2500 rpm speed. If someone has found a Kubota recommendation for appropriate engine rpm, can you please tell me where to find this ?

I think the actual number is somewhere between 3000 and 3100 RPM, but I recommend you run it wide open throttle for everything.

I thought I read it was 3200 RPM in my book. I run mine between 3000- and 3100 for both mowing and blowing snow. Seems to really like it there.

I run mine wide open for mowing. If the grass is really dry or not very thick, I will sometimes back it down to 3100 rpm or so.

from page 2 of operator's manual under specification under pto section says:
rear pto= 540 rpm at 3142 engine rpm
mid pto= 2500 rpm at 3043 engine rpm.

I find that running at 2600-2900 (preferably 2850) gives me good performance. When I get into thick/tall grass or alot of clippings to move, I just bump it up to 3200 rpms and it will drop a little bit and vary around 3000 rpms or so when running into the thick/heavy stuff.
