I was using the FEL to lift a mobile home frame for cutting when it slid free and came down on the bonnet. I got wasn't in the way (I know better), but it really messed up the tractor. The stout grill guard caught the steel and kept if from trashing the engine.

I should have know better and lifted with a chain. There is no decent lip (without a tooth bar) on the FEL to hold a load.

$500 deductive with insurance and I may need it with all the bits broken. Looks like a good time to do a valve adjust :D

Hooks not withstanding (I bought a set of them at the local box store and welded them on, think they cost 10 bucks for 2), you are getting away cheap. Just the upper bonnet (I have 3 piece hoods) on my M9's are $1000.00 I have one M9 with a dented 'bonnet' from a round bale that got away from a previous owner. I'm removing it and it's going to the bump shop this winter.

No bees in my bonnet.....

I'm good, but thanks for the offer. I have something on the bucket for hooks but just didn't think it was going to get "complicated". It did.

Always hurts to see ones SMASHED stuff. Lots of people are out of their element or just don't care, and have all kinds of smashed stuff. But when you care and do something stupid, that is troubling.

Wow, that last picture sure looks like you paint is really faded! My BX220 is older than yours and looks nowhere as faded as that!

Plastic hood?

Perhaps $500 for a make over is not that bad...:)

One thing for certain and that is, a new hood will never match the 'Mary Kay' pink you have.....lol

Need a couple of arms on the top of the bucket to stop stuff from sitting on your lap.

Yes to plastic hood, but really not so much fading as fertilizer and pesticide from spraying fruit trees. One treatment (Surround) is kaolin clay and difficult to wash off. The tractor (Rex) gets a very good bath, grease, and fluid change before winter when I switch him over for moving snow.

Stupid me should have used a chain or toothbar to lift the load and not just the lip of the bucket. Operator error all the way.
