Getting ready to put a 60" belly mower under my BX25 at a local dealer. Having the deck under the tractor does it interfer with the 3ph operations, can you use the bh with the belly mower attached? Is there anything I need to know right up front about the mower deck, things to look for, things I need to do, etc. I'll be cutting roughly 6 acres, I've looked at the ZT's but cost it way too high vs. a belly mower. Any thought, comments or suggestions would be appreciated

To use the 3PH, you just need to raise the deck all the way up and rotate the height setting to TOP and this locks the deck in the raised position so you can use the 3PH.

You will want to remove the deck when in the woods or rough ground as it can hang up and get broken.

I have a bx24. I find that leaving BH on is cumbersome, but I mowed it with on no problem. you just need to make sure your top lift arms is up all the way before putting the BH on. otherwise, eveerytime you lift the mower, it will continue to strain on the BH floor deck.

When not using the mower, its ideal to lift deck to top position to leave it there to make it easier instead of having mower and 3pt dropping the same time.

I believe that kubota recommends to not use the bh with the deck on. I believe it has something to do with spiking the valves when operating the raise and lowering lever. If you leave the bh on disconnect the lines and you should be fine.

The way I understand it, Kubota recommends that one not run the MMM w/the BH attached for the BX24 & BX25. Surprisingly Kubota indicated it was alright to on the earlier BX22 & BX23.
There are many BX24/25 owners that do run their MMM w/the FEL & BH attached without any problems except they can't lower the MMM any lower then I believe 3", but I'm going on foggy memory on that and could be wrong. Someone correct me if I am.

Thing is, as easy as it is to remove the BHoe & FEL why mow with them mounted?
It takes less than 15 tool-less minutes to remove them, you shorten the tractor by atleast 4', you lessen it's weight by atleast 1000 lbs, and by doing this you make the BX TLB a VERY nimble mower.....
I don't know how rough the area is you want to mow but when you lessen 1000lbs from your BX your ride will be more smoother too.
The almost non-existent whine in your BX sans the BHoe & FEL will also tell you that it's less a strain too.

In any case, good luck. I am very happy w/the finish cut of my 60" MMM on my BX23 and I finish cut alittle over 4 acres w/the BHoe & FEL removed.

When we got the tractor from the dealer the MMM, BH, and FEL were all on. I started using the BH with the MMM still attached until I found out that this was not recommended. Removing the BH to use the mower is easy, but removing the mower to use the BH is a big pain...:mad::mad:

Volfandt is right. The recommendation is Not using the MMM when the BH is installed. When the mower is raised completely, there seems to be a pressure spike in certain situations. You can sometimes feel this spike in the steering wheel when the mower hits the top. The thought is, that this pressure spike goes to the "back" side of the BH control valve and might possibly damage the valve. (Most valves are not designed for high pressure to the return to tank side.) I don't remember anyone reporting any damage though. You can disconnect the hydraulics from the BH and eliminate the possibility. The BH doesn't interfere with the mower function or lift/ lowering.

Again, Volfandt notes the BH is so easy to remove that it's easier to take it off than to mow with it on...

I've never seen a prohibition of using the BH with the MMM installed. The MMM cuts the ground clearance, but if you're working on fairly even ground it's not a big problem.

Taking the FEL and BH off sure makes mowing a whole lot easier and less stressful. You don't have to remember about those branches and other obstacles that are a farther above your head, and you shorten the length of the tractor as well by a few feet in the front and in the back.

Thanks everyone.......took it in this morning and the dealer just called and its ready already, what great service! My main concern was using the 3ph with the mower on, I'll be taking the fel and BH off while mowing, can't wait to get some seat time in the morning.....thanks again:thumbsup:

I think you will be well satisfied with it, we are on our second BX with 60" deck.
