I just bought a Landpride RCR1248 3 pt mower and I cannot get it adjusted right. Hoping someone can walk me through my troubles. I am trying to get the front of it adjusted so it will not drag on the ground but when i put it all the way on the ground the front is dragging. Anyone have any advice?
Welcome 89ranger:
Open up your top link on your tractor so the link on your cutter will "float".
You maintain the front level of the cutter with your 3ph control. Or if you are cutting a level flat area,
you can set the front of cutter at what height you want, then close the valve that controls the speed of the drop on the 3ph. That is the black knob below you seat. This will hold the cutter in the same position.
I really struggled with the RCR1242 I had. I could not get the level of the cutter set that I would be happy with. I didn't understand at the time that the quarter inching valve on the BX would always be slowly dropping. Like you I was digging with the skids on the cutter, or cutting to high.
There are some members on here that have used "check chains" to deal with this. You might do a search for check chains and get another idea.
Hope this helps.
