I have the BX25D with a 12in bucket and mechanical thumb. Digs great... I have rocky soil with boulders up to about 2ft diameter. BH does great. Best thing I did though is add a Piranha Tooth Bar for the FEL bucket, then you can dig with the front end too! Without the PTB the lip on the FEL bucket is useless IMO. With teeth, it digs!

It is good to hear that the loader can dig a little too. Sometimes you want to take a scoop out of the ground.

In my case... a whole lot of scoops out of the ground. I am terracing a steep sloped property and if I had to rely on the BH only I would have given up and hired it done if my FEL couldn't do most of the work.

I too, have very rocky soil and a new BX 25. In the past two weeks I have done a good amount of digging and have not had any issue, beyond not being able to penetrate through solid rock LOL.
