Hello Everyone, this forum has been a real blessing to me; I think I must have read over 100 pages of threads! I am naturally a "researcher" of products before I buy, and I've found a ton of great info here and learned a lot from all of your collective experiences.

I think I am settled on a BX25. Although I am not new to tractors, I am considering buying my first "real" tractor (riding mower doesn't count even though my 3yr old thinks so. :) I've been using my neighbors B7800 off/on for the last 3 years; he has been most generous with it and his attachments (PTO tiller, box scraper). I think I'm ready to take the plunge and get my own though. I have just under 3 acres to maintain, including some new projects to complete (install some walkways/parking areas, drainage, clearing brush) I really would like a backhoe/excavator feature; I've rented on several occasions a JD 310J, a 9000lb excavator, Bobcats, Takeuchi mini-excavator...

Anyway...I've received 4 quotes, 3 which seem competitive. All are quoted w/12" bucket, industrial tires, and 3pt hitch---out the door.

$16,073 w/0% @ 42mos
$16,670 w/0% @ 60mos (it's the first quote above w/a dealer buy-down option for 60mos finance)
$16,175 w/0% @ 42mos
$17,400 w/0% @ 42mos (least compelling offer)

What do you think? Thanks in advance!

I just bought one from Barlows and your first price in your quote probably won't be beat. If anyone beats it be sure and post it. Ask for hats and maybe first service fluids and filters.:) Here's what it will look like in your drive way.

What I did a year ago in a similar situation was to throw out the high quote and then bought from one of the other two dealers I felt best about and had the best reputation.
Enjoy! I know I am. more snow to push today!

With the exception of the high one they are all pretty close. Which dealer did you feel most comfortable with?? Who is closest?? Anyone pick up and drop off for free when you need service?? if not who is cheaper for the transport?? What are the service rates for all three?? All good questions to ask yourself as you dont want to get raped on your service and you dont want a dealer that treats you like crap.

I just got done pricing several brands and several dealers per brand. Here are the best prices I got (these have the finance charges included).

BX25 - $17,200 + tax for 0% for 60mo.
JD 2305 - $17,000 + tax for 0% for 60mo.
M.F. GC2410 - $18,100 + tax for 0% for 72mo.

Thanks so much for the responses, especially the post-sales support questions of service rates, ease to work with, etc...things I will keep in mind.

The dealers are within 25-50miles and all said I am within region and can do initial delivery drop off for free. Unfortunately the closest dealer was the highest quote and the best quote is the furthest...figures. :( Good thing is I got the best vibe from the two lowest quotes, both were very helpful and answered all my questions pretty objectively.

@JohnThomas, grt pics! I'll be sure to ask for the goodies...kinda like asking for picks, strings, and strap when buying a new guitar... ;)

I am taking my wife with me tomorrow to do a final test drive. Will keep you all posted!

Mistake #1 Your letting your wife drive it. Made that one already now she wants to drive it all the time. Dont do it.

Well, my wife grew up in the country and raised steers in 4H thru-out her school years. In some ways she's been around tractors longer than I've been. But I will take heed...
