First post, though I've been reading this forum a lot for a couple of months.
Question: My BX25 fuel gauge no longer reads the amount of fuel in the tank. It now always reads full. It worked fine for approx first 25 hours, but since then (52 hours now) it no longer indicates fuel use. I usually top up the tank after each use, but last time I decided to let it run down pretty low without refilling....I'd say down to about 1/4 tank.....but the gauge still read full.
I'm about to set up my 50 hour service - - dealer provides free 50 hr, and comes out to me, rather than having to bring the machine there....nice deal, good dealer...and I'll ask them to have a look at the gauge.
I got the shop service manual when I bought the tractor....but there's nothing in the section on the gauges and fuel gauge that's helpful for this....unless it's maybe an electrical glitch, but even then, the manual gives me just about no clue what to do.
I was tempted to run a stiff wire into the refueling opening and moving it around to see if maybe the sensor in there is stuck and isn't floating, but I figured I'd probably damage the thing and then the warranty wouldn't cover me on this....or even do worse damage, maybe!
BTW, when I start the tractor, the fuel gauge cycles fully down and up, as it always did when it was brand new, but then it stays on full after that.
Has anyone had same problem?
Thanks....really love this forum....learned (and still learning) a ton of stuff.
