Hit 50 hrs on the meter while mowing Monday. Planned to finish up mowing yesterday after work but had stormy weather, so I decided to do some of the 50 hr service instead. Wound up doing everything - it was much easier than the 50 hr service on my BX1500. In fact the hardest part was getting mower deck off and on. That thing is a beast. After removing the deck I removed the transmission oil filter. Had to modify my filter wrench by trimming the band with tin snips to fit it between the filter and skidplate. I was a little concerned about how much fluid would drain when I removed the filter, but it was really little more than a few drops plus less than a cup that was in the old filter. After installing the new trans oil filter I drained the engine oil and removed the old oil filter. Again, just a small amount dripped from the filter. While the oil was draining I greased the foot pedal. Replaced the drain plug and installed the new oil filter and added 3 qt Rotella T-5 10w-30 because that's what I ran in my BX1500 and I had some leftover. Started it up and checked for leaks at the filters and drain plug, all good. Shut it down and checked engine and transmission oil levels, all good. Torqued the wheel bolts and the loader frame bolts.

Hardest part was reinstalling the deck by wiggling it under the tractor. The bolts on the balancing bar get hung up on the rear linkage, not sure what's up with that. Reaching under the tractor to attach the drive shaft is just about impossible. Fortunately it clicked right on, so I didn't have to wrestle with the collar too much. Also, the rear linkage doesn't seem to want to go down without a load on it. I had to reach up under the tractor and pull it down with my hand. Adjusting the rate of drop didn't affect it. If anyone knows of an adjustment or something that needs lubed to get that to come down on its own, I'd love to know about it. Even after pulling the linkage down, I still had to lift each side of the deck to get the pins to snap into place. Again, if anyone knows of an adjustment I can make to prevent having to do that, please let me know.

Still have a leaking seal on left side of the power steering cylinder. It had stopped leaking for a while, but has started again now, so I'll have to get the dealer to check it out when the grass stops growing so fast.

Altogether it was less than two hours, including wrestling with the mower deck, and I was in no hurry.

 for proper maintenance!

i picked up a set of these for the hydro fluid and engine oil filters. cheap and convenient in tight spaces.

I have one of those for the engine oil filter, but not for the trans oil filter. Don't know if one would fit around the skidplate.

Good job! Mine is approaching 50 hrs quickly.
I had the same problem with the lift linkage coming down very slowly and not reaching the pin holes on the deck...of course I am working on shifting 3/4 stone so that's to be expected. Lifting the deck on each side allowed the pins to click in...still a pain in the ***** getting the shaft to couple but a little easier each time.

Use the loader to pick up the front end then the arms for the backhoe to pick up its butt.....makes things much more easy.

Yeah it would if the loader and backhoe were installed, but I wasn't installing them just to get the deck off and on.

I have found I can't muscle it under without it on. Tried it once and it was a non starter. I just wait till I am done with the deck (only used it to mow a few times) then do the swap. I have also found if I have to do that alone even with it raised I am D O N E done. Whatever will have to wait till tomorrow.

I just did my 50 hour service Sunday. The service manager at the dealer told me it was something like $350 and I should just do it myself. The only thing that took time was finding the right filter wrench in my tool box for the transmission filter. The mower was already off. I hate that thing! I will try lifting the front wheels up with the loader. Good tip.

Worse part of servicing the BX-25 for me is when you have to change the anti-freeze. I did what I did on my ATV, I simply removed the lower hose from the radiator. Forget accessing the pet cock, it ain't goin to happen.

I left the deck on when I did my 50 hour service. But it was off for the 100 and was a little easier. Getting ready to do the 150 if there is any thing to do in a couple weeks. I think it might be 200 but will look when I get there.
