Took a little time to hose off my dirty new BX yesterday and noticed moisture under the glass on the instrument panel. Didn't use pressure, just basically a rinse. Is this normal? Anyone else experience this? Seems like it should be better sealed than this!

Mine did that after I first got it. The water made it slowly go dim over time. Replaced under warranty. I sealed the edges of the ne one with RTV, but there are still holes behind it. Now I remove it when I wash. Pops right out and one connector.

It has more moisture today and I didn't wash. This seems a bit poor that it isn't better sealed. Anyone else?

Also, there are clips that come through the back that it will come apart so it can "air out" then put it back together.

I have had moisture inside my GL3240 under instrument panel glass in the winter time likely due to the change of temperature but it always disappeared on its own. Have you tried parking the tractor in the sun to see if it would just evaporate out?

Hot dry sunny day in the pacific NW and yep it dried out real good! I feel like trying to seal it now though.

The condensation is perfectly normal. I've seen it from time to time in mine even without washing. There are vent holes on the back of the dash to deal with that very issue. The vents are designed to allow air flow in to move the moisture out.

I've seen the same situation with automotive head light and tail light assemblies and I've seen guys sealing those vents only to make matters worst.
I'm leaving mine as it is.

My 2008 BX24 usually resides in a silver tarped shed. Left it out, loaded on the trailer after a looong workday, and we had unexpected rain overnight. The next day, I was near it, and it had a repetitive clicking sound, like a starter solenoid was trying to kick... Got it started, but then it wouldn't shut off when I wanted it to. Had to leave it running until it got enough engine heat to dry out the instrument cluster.

Now, I always put it in the shed, or cover the area with a tarp, if it might get soaked. I can work in the rain, or snow, and even leave snow on the display area after plowing, without a problem; and I've hosed the dash when washing it, but leaving it cold in a rain, I expect to have a problem.

Wasn't there a recall on BX 50-series with leaking dash assemblies?
