Can I buy a trailer for my tractor around $2000

Is there anywhere along the east coast states where i could purchase a "New" 16-18' equipment trailer with dual axles and brakes to haul around my 4000lb. tractor,, my budget would be around $2000 So I'm not sure if it would be possible, thanks

Bump it up $1000, and it should be doable.

Probably not new but if your lucky you might find a used one.

They pop up from time to time on Craigslist, but it's so hit & miss. My area it seems like people are asking about the same for used trailers as you'd pay for new.
Lately I've had more luck (selling, at least) on local Facebook for sale pages. There hasn't seemed to be so many scammers and the usual CL trick of someone offering you more than you're asking in return for cashing their "cashier's check", they're sending a shipper to pick it up, etc. etc.

I needed an 18-20' equipment trailer for as little as possible.

Called around and about an hour away I found an 18' tandem, 7k per axle with brakes on both for 2500.

It was brand new but was 3 years old. It had been sitting on their lot for so long and they wanted it gone. Incredible deal imo so it was worth the drive.

The trailer hasn't missed a beat and is great!

You certainly were lucky!
Most used trailers feature old sidewall cracked tires, inoperative electric brakes, wheel bearings run dry, damaged deck planking, fenders mangled, and a dead breakaway battery.
The OP could buy a $1500 trailer, and put another $1000 (and X? hours of his time) in it to make it roadworthy/safe.
2 years later it will be an ugly old trailer, that maybe has $1500 resale value, but he would still be out $1000.

Agree that on the east coast it would be almost impossible to find a trailer for your 2K budget unless you found a used one. You can probably find a new trailer in the 3-4K range. I doubt your XJ2025H TLB is 4K according to tractordata specs which show the tractor and loader weigh 2247. I doubt the BH weighs 1753 lbs. If you will be hauling something 4K lb. tractor or less you could get by with a 7K trailer. If more then you'll need to be looking for something between 8-10K. If it were me I'd also look for at least a 20' trailer. At least in my area the PD can and do give tickets for tractors with attachments that overhang the back of the trailer.
