Ended picking it up for $200. Brand new blades, brand new stump jumper. Told me straight up it was a bush hog and the only paint he had was JD green. Oil was in the gearbox and metal is good. I had a **** of a time adjusting the PTO shaft as it was 'frozen' from sitting for a while. Once I hooked it up, it ran perfectly. No vibrations, no leaking oil. Good buy in my opinion!

Yep that is one heck of a deal. There is a little farm, plant seller and hardware store in a town i go through lots for work. He sells montana tractors and implements. I use to make a point to drive through the tiny lot frequently for used implements i could snap up.

Anyway i saw a 5 ft rusted barely any paint left on it and more patches over it than this thing, no plastic PTO cover sheild. After a few months i went in and inquired about it. I was either thinking i would try the 5fter on my tractor and or sell it later. The guy said it was on consignment but looked it up and said i think the guy wants $500, yep thats what he wrote. I told him he was crazy that thing was beat to death and rusted and parts of the top deck was swiss cheese from the sand and 30 years of laying out it had seen. The guy said thats a HD bushhog there expensive new. I said yea they are but this thing is a long way from new and is all welded up and still needs more. I said youll never sell it for that but i will give you $100 for it, he said they could never do it. I said well my offer stands if you cant find a sucker to buy it for that.

I have the exact machine except it's red. Bought second hand about 15 years ago for $500. Mine on the tag says model SQ60-4 Bush Hog. It will cut up to about 1 to 1.5 inches no problem, but give it time, keep the RPM high, with the speed slow. I have never had any problems other than regular maintenace.
