Car lift in garage

Santa brought me a 4 post lift last December!
It came with jack plate, casters and drip pans.
Picked up in Orlando was $2420.00.
I got the extended length for my extra cab PU.
It is a 8000 lb lift, model # XLT 8000, found it on ebay and dealt with seller on the phone.
I have a forklift but was easier to assemble with engine hoist.

I have that same lift in my shop for going on 8 years. I have the jack but it leaks on whatever is under it so I pulled it.

One thing I like about the BendPak lifts is the redundant safety. Just like airplanes have.

They feature four lifting cables, two of which are redundant and supplied only as an extreme safety precaution. A redundant cable is merely there in case one cable should develop slack, snap or otherwise become dysfunctional. Of course, always engage the locks on the lift. I will engage the locks and then lower the lift so they engage and lock into place. Otherwise, if the hydraulics failed, the lift would drop down quickly until the next tooth lock location, which can jar the lift/car.

The chain lifts are dangerous. Plenty of YouTube videos of a chain link failing and the vehicle comes crashing down.

I will probably just go 5" thick for the entire slab. BendPak specs are 4.25" thick for their 2 and 4 post lifts, with a 3,000 psi mix. So if I go 5" thick with 4,500 psi, I should be more than adequate. Rebar is #4 @ 24" on center.

I'm saving pennies for a Bendpak 4 post myself. My ceiling is around 10-12 ft high but the location where I'd put the lift most of the time would let me clear a little more than that. I've got 4-5" of commercial fiber reinforced concrete.

Which lift (4 post or 2 post) would you recommend for doing brakes, tire rotations, oil changes and can you put a large commercial ZTR on a 2 post lift?

My ATV would not fit really well on my small two-post lift and it is a bit of a pain to crawl under the ATV to change the oil, so I made up a set of wheel lifts. You could do the same for a ZTR. I tested it to about 1600 lbs and it didn't flinch - made out of 3/16 x 3" x4" angle iron and had about $100 in it.

Put in a 2 post Bendpak. I didnt trust the floor thickness so cut out the concrete and dug/tilled down 14" Backfilled with peagravel and rebar. So I have a concrete chunk that is 14'x4'x12" to mount the lift to that is also keyed into the current slab.

I had an 9K Rotary lift installed before I poured the floor. The installer said to pour the section where the lift was to be installed 8'' thick with no rebar.
When I asked why no rebar, he said, 9 out of 10 times when rebar is installed, when he drills for the holes, the rebar will end up being right where a hole needs to be drilled

Mmm I drilled right through the rebar on a bolt hole when I put my Bendpak in. One hole did have a bunch of silver filings mixed with the concrete dust.

Pretty sure the SDS carbide hammer drills barely notice it..?.

That said, I have always wondered if that weakened that spot
