MF 235
Hello all! My uncle has a MF 235 that he is willing to let me use, but it has a carb problem. There seems to be some sort of a pin/needle with holes in it, about an inch long in the lower half of the carb that is bent and causing problems. I've tried looking for the part, but no luck so far.

I was looking at getting a new carb for the tractor, but I've noticed a few inconsistencies and I'm looking for some assistance.

Here is what I have: 1975 MF235 with the Continental Z-145 gas engine
Carb tag shows that it is a Zenith 12566
Service manual shows a Zenith 13975, as well as many other parts sites for that model/year.

My question is...does anyone know if I could get that pin & rebuild kit somewhere? Or does anyone know why that carb is on that tractor? The only thing I've come up with so far is that it originally had some other carb on it, and the 12566 was a replacement for it...but the only direct replacement I've found was for a MS carb. I have noticed that carb being used on some other Z145 engines, but not one a 200 series.

What do you think the best route would be? If I can find the part, the rebuild route, get a replacement 12566, get a 13975 (which is what everything says it should have), or get the newer model 14991 that is a replacement for the 13975?

Thanks,

John
