Went to change my oil at 288 hours. Started it up to warm the oil and I had the hood open while it was running. Niticed something odd on the muffler side.

Lower Alternater bolt was spinning against the belt.

At some point the nut came off and the only thing holding the bolt from falling out was the belt.

Bolt threads were worn so I bought an M10 70 mm replacement with locking nut at Tractor supply.

Good thing I caught it..bolt could have eventually come out..or belt would have broken and caused all kinds of damage.

sigh, thanks for reminding me what I got to do real soon LOL
good catch though, found it before anything bad happened.
not like theres a radiator a few inches back from that bolt.

honestly...I think this applies to ALL GC owners. have not checked bolt direction on the 1723 or 1725M I deal wih a lot. do remember looking at a 1710 and seeing bolt was same setup as my 2400.
