As I've posted recently, I aquired a new to me Bearcat chipper/shredder with blower. I had been interested in this model since I have alot of smaller brush to shred. I've been running through my gas powered chipper/shredder in the past few years.
I felt I scored on the unit I ended up with and looked for quite a while, missing a few others. I had been up in the air with which type to get and was leaning towards the wallenstein type and hoped to luck out and find a Salsco 624. I didn't come across this style that were priced at what I was willing to pay.
Well as luck would have it a Salsco 627 with under 10 hrs use has fallen into my lap. I was thinking of picking it up and then using them both for a month or so and then deciding which unit is right for me. The only issue is I chip mostly in the fall and don't have any brush piles to chip al present(thanks to the Bearcat). I know the TBN faithful love to help other members spend $$ so I'm looking for a sanity check. I really can't see how I'd lose on this deal since I should easily be able to recoup my expense on either unit. Only downside is throwing 2k into an attachment. But it's likely safer than the stock market.
