I was looking at the CK20H at the Kioti website and various dealer websites and it says that the CK20H has a single pedal that controls forward and reverse movement. And on Kioti's website I found this picture:

How well does the one pedal design work as opposed to the traditional two pedal design? If you have the CK20H could to explain that pedal graphic a little better than how the pic shows? I was also wondering, does the CK20H have different ranges like high, medium, or low?

The pedal is your basic rocker, set your foot in the middle, rock foward=moves forward, rock it heel down=moves backwards. keep pedal at ground speed you like then flip the switch on the dash, as in the picture you provided.
hope this helps, Danny

The CK20 has a two range Hydro. A Low and a High. To clarify the switch on the dash, is the cruise control.

I've used the single rocker pedal design and I've used the two pedal design. It's whatever you are comfortable with. I found it pretty easy to adapt either way.

I never seen that design before. I always thought they were of the two pedal design. Then again I don't know much about tractors! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif That design does look interesting. In the pic I thought it was just one pedal and because of those two sided arrows and "ghost" images, I thought to go in reverse you had to slide the pedal around and then press it down. The only hydro I have experience with is the couple of lawn tractors we got. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif The one in my avatar pic was homemade by my grandfather who died about a year and a half ago. He made it I'm guessing about 30 years ago. It has to be rope started. It is a good size tractor - probably the size of the CK20. It has harrows on the back and in the middle for plowing. He used it every year. It also has no brakes. The only way to stop is press the clutch in and let momentum stop you. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif It is fun to drive. The tranny I think has 4 forward speeds and 2 reverse speeds. It is hard to tell because I swear sometimes when I shift to what I thought sure was a forward gear turns out to be reverse. Sometimes it goes forward and other times it likes to go backwards. But that is half the fun! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It does work great when plowing though. But after about an hour of doing that, and I get off I realize what a workout that is! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

That setup is slick /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Others will soon copy /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have no experience with Hydro tractors, but the forklift I use to drive had this 1 pedal setup. Push forward on the pedal and go forward, put your heel down and backup,,,,,,,,,, very very nice and extremely fast setup!!

I'm sure some will complain about it, (I did until I tried it /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif), but I will take that design over all others.

Kubota has had this configuration for years and in my opinion works great. No real way to accidently step on the wrong pedal.

I noticed a little while ago that the brakes are on the same side as the hydro pedal. What is the point of this configuration? Doesn't that negate the ability to use the brakes to assist in turning? I am also wondering, what is the pedal on the other side for? Is it a clutch for the high/low range or something? What's that orange thing directly behind the hydro pedal? And one last question; what are those red and black knobs above the yellow cruise control lever?

Here is the pic again:

yea, i could never figure out how one would use the R/L brakes and the hydro pedal at the same time.

yes, the pedal on the left side is the clutch for hi/lo range as well as the PTO engage/disengage

the "orange thing" directly behind the hydro pedal is the hydrostatic filter

the cruise control and parking brake levers are side by side, the cruise (yellow) on the right PB (orange) on the left

The two knobs on the dash...the red is the emergency engine kill switch and the black is the hazard lights

you can see a bunch more pics here ck20 photos (thanks to jhelfrich!) keep in mind the photos in this album are of one of the prototype units...there were some changes in the production models.

Thanks for the speedy reply! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I thought that orange thing looked like a filter or something, but I never seen one in that spot before. Thanks for the photos! I love looking at CK20 photos! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I have one last question that I just thought of. Does the CK20 have a foldable ROPS? I couldn't find anything about that at Kioti's website.

I'm not sure on the CK20 but on other tractors you lock on the cruise control, then you can use one of the brake pedals to turn. If you push both brake pedals it should disengage the cruise.

The ROPS on the CK20 folds down right at the base of the ROPS.
