CK27hst & QA bale spear

I've got a ck27 with a QA bucket and will need to get 6-8 round bales of hay. If I got a QA spear would I be able to take 800ish pound bales off a trailer? I don't need to stack or unstack them. The tractor's rear tires are loaded and I have a 5' United boxblade I can put on the 3 point hitch for additional ballast.

None of the farmers on here have replyed so i'll take a shot ,your loader can lift substantially more then 800# in the bucket,so as long as your bale spear isn't moving the center of gravity to far from the tractor you should have no trouble moving bales. Keep in mind you do have to have proper ballast any time your using your loader....Craig

My Ck30 could do it using bucket forks...barely(that was one big reason to trade for a Dk40). With a Q&A you will be closer in to the pins which gives more leverage but at 1155 max lift lbs it is still going to be very very close. If the bales are totally dry, I'd bet you won't have any problem. But get one that has been sitting in the field for a couple of months it will be a different ball game.
I say borrow a bale spear and try it before you commit. Swing on by, I have a Q&A spear and a barn full of 4x4 rolls:thumbsup:

Thanks. I was thinking the qa spear would keep the bale close and with the filled rear tires and a 400# or so boxblade on the back end I would have enough ballast to keep things stable.
