I think I have narrowed the search for a new tractor down to the ck 30 hst and kubota b3300 su. Both have fel and the dealers are local, I would have confidence in both. Price quotes are with-in a $1000. The ck35hst and b3300su were almost the same price. I have always had old tractors and know little of the new models but my wife wants something new that she will be comfortable running.
Which one would you buy and why or would you suggest something else in this catagory?
I asked the guys in the kubota forum the same question yesterday and to my surprise 2 said kioti and 1 said kubota, everyone liked both.
I have a 6 foot 3 ph finishing mower, 5 foot tiller, 6 foot blade, etc.. The property is only 3 acres and the soil base is sand. This year the tractor will be needed to clean up the property, we will be building a home this summer and need to do a lot of back filling and landscaping. After that it will be used to maintain the property, lots of tilling gardens and some grass cutting.
I had hoped to get a backhoe with the new tractor but that does not seem to fit the buget.
Thanks for your help
Don

I think you would be happy with either because they are similar but there are a few differences to consider which may lean you one way or the other. From their advertised numbers, HP for Kubota is 33 to 25pto and Kioti 30 to 22pto. Hydraulic pump is 9.9 for Kubota and 12.7 for Kioti. Weight for Kubota is 1929 and Kioti 3142. 3pt lift 1400 to 1764. Loaders appear to have only a 100lb difference. These are the larger differences. There are a few other smaller differences along with operator comforts between the two which you may want or you're willing to trade them for others. I would look at each closely, definately take them for a ride, see how each tractor fits you and your use needs, then pick the one you think is best. Good luck in your decision.

the kioti weighs that much more??? i think the weight of the kubota you mentioned is tractor only and the weight of the kioti you mentioned is tractor with the fel? the kubota would come in around 2700lbs with the fel on and the kioti weighs 3142lbs with fel on.

to the op, has your wife sat on each? what one does she like the feel of? if you haven't already, test drive them both and run all the controls. do it on the exact model and setup you want. if the dealer won't do that then that throws a flag. also, if you are going to do some of your own maintenance, see which one is easier to work on, which one has the common filters/dipsticks, etc.. in easy to acess places. i am sure either would do you a good job, provided you and your wife like the feel and options of the one you buy.

I think you have two good choices... Take the wife down with you when you test drive them!!! You and your wife have to get a feel for how they are laid out. You'll be happy with either...

Thanks for your replies.
We have not yet worked ( or is that played) with either model yet, just sat on them and bounced up and down. The kobota dealer does not have one in stock and will need to order one in if we decide to buy. The kioti dealer is willing to drop it off at our place to try it for part of a day.
The kioti salesman was convincing pointing out the ck30 extra wieght and lifting strength. Kubota salesman also made good points stating the kubotas lightness will be better for mowing the yard and that the B series are more nimble than most models for running around the greenhouse and in the gardens.
This morning I decided on the Kubota, this afternoon I decided on the Kioti and use the extra thousand dollars to by a bb and an extra auger for the post hole digger. Now I am unsure.
Thanks again
Don

Use the Kioti at your house for awhile and let your wife on it too. Then ask Mr. Kubota dealer to do the same. Sounds like you have a good Kioti dealer wish mine was that good.

One thing to consider is the Kubota is 1/4 inching 3pt valve, the Kioti is position control..a superior system.. It will stay where you leave it. The 1/4 inching will require periodic adjustment as you work over time.. In other words if you mow for an hour the hitch on the Kubota will sink slowly over time the Kioti will not. The Kioti has a feedback mechanism so that as the hitch slowly starts to sink it automaticly re adjusts it self. If you boxblade for a while you will have to readjust the kubota height once in a while.. It is not the end of the world but the Position control is a more expensive and more advanced system.. good luck in which ever you choose.

I took the Kubota weight without fel from their web site and yes, the Kioti weighs in at 3142 without loader. Add @700lbs for the loader for a total of @3842.
K0ua does have a good point about the 3pt. Wherever I set mine (CK30hst), infinate adjustment within the total range, and it will stay there.
You'll find the power steering on the Kioti very easy and I have done the palming the wheel or two finger thing to steer. My wife was skeptical of using it but once she did, she said it was easier to drive than her car. If the Kioti dealer is willing to drop one off for a day, I would definately give it a spin. I think you'll find it very easy to manuver around.
If overall weight is a problem for your jobs, then the Kubota would be @1000lbs less in weight. I like the weight of the Kioti because for pulling, pushing, snowplowing, grading, etc., the weight can give me the traction for the power the engine puts out. The Kubota has three more engine and pto hp, so if that is a concern, then maybe lighter and a few more ponies would be better.
I'd take a piece of paper and write the differences down side by side and check off what is important. You should also try to drive around the Kubota so you can have a good comparison for each.

My guess is that you'll not need the extra weight or strength... Have you looked at the B2620 or BX25LB-T? You might be able to swing it with a backhoe...

While it is NOT a backhoe you might consider a clamp-on bucket spade for occasional digging. Any bucket spade surely beats a shovel-in-your-hand.

Several companies offer bucket spades. Mine came from Bucket Solutions.

Bucket Forks, Tractor Forks, Loader Forks by Bucket Solutions

I own a Kubota B3300SU......and I like it. Only Deere and Kubota distributors in my area of Florida.

Good luck on your decision.
