I want to ask this again as a follow up on my treadle pedal sticking. It only does it for the first 10 to 15 mins of operation forward or reverse. I know some others have chimed in about it as well and would probaly be curious as to an outcome.
As a refresher, the pedal once pushed will stick in that position for upwards of 10 seconds or so, it varies sometimes. I noticed the other day that when it started to release it was jumping back up in stages back to the neutral position. I have lubricated this shaft/linkage to death to the point I am leaving a puddle on the floor of my shed. Before I even started lubing things I determined that with the range lever in a neutral position that pedal would not stick in the down position no matter forward or reverse leading me to believe it is an interanl thing. The only other thing I thought might be causing the trouble would be the damping device but it works perfect when the range lever is in neutral as well. Could there be some type of back pressure in the charge pump when the oil is cold or is that a left field sort of thinking. Could someone enlighten me on what happens as you push the treadle what is happening so as I can grasp a picture of what is going on in the magic box or is it just your typical swash plate being rotated in there.

Thanks
Steve

I have had the same slow to return to center on my bobcat 235 which we all by now know is a kioti, after its fully up to temp the condition improves.Maybe your just not warmed up good yet.

I had the same problem on mine. It was the Hydrostatic unit that had gone bad in my case. It was still under warranty and the dealer covered it.

I've got a CK35 HST, and it's been doing that since my initial changing of the fluids. I think the hydraulic oil I put in is heaver than the original from Kioti. Don't know that for a fact but that's what it seems like. Once the machine warms up and fluids come up to temp, everything is fine. Next change, I'm going to try some type of synthetic blend or something similar if they make it. Anybody know of any? Anybody used Amsoil?

When I did the first change for my CK30hst, I was able to find Shell Donax TD as listed in the manual. I've had no problems. I believe the oil dealer told me it's a lighter multi grade oil (10W-20). I'd have to ask him again to be sure.

They make synthetics for the tractor hydraulics. For our change interval, it appears to be overkill and the synthetic oil is very expensive.

I've found something under the tractor that doesn't look right. Maybe some of you guys can chime in here. I'm going to post a few pictures to relate what I have found and maybe a dealer or someone smarter than me can explain what some of these levers do once you picture everything together. It was hard to get pics between the hydraulic lines that run friont to back and the camera was trying to focus on the wrong thing.

Pic#2 Start here, the rod in behind is what is connected to the yellow lever that locks your HST pedal. It's connected to the rod below via the 90 degree pivot.

Pic#3 This is the other end of the rod connected to a shaft I think that enters thru the side of the transmission and I assume when you put the lever up it locks something in place inside. This whole rod assembly (mine anyways) only moves about an 1/8" from off to lock. If look you can see the end of a return spring sticking out at 90 degrees to the shaft.

Pic#4 This is the other end of the spring which I assume is suppose to be hooked in the groove that you see. There is tension on the spring as it is resting on the shaft. This shaft has another part of the plunger assembly attached to it.

Pic#1 This is another view of the spring not in place and looks like it wouldn't line up anyhow.

There are adjustments in the rods but I don't want to play with them yet until I get some feedback from you guys. This speed locking shaft has me wondering whether it is related to my pedal sticking.

Thanks in advance
Steve

I wish I had an answer for you, because mine does the same thing. I think it's heading back to the dealer soon because it is dangerous as far as I'm concerned.

Well I tried adjusting the lever position and that did nothing, so it's back to the drawing board.

Steve,
For what its worth, if you're using a point & shoot type camera you need about 3' minimum distance to the focal point from the lens, anything else will end up being out of focus. Maybe you could lie in a ditch and shoot up to the parts you are describing?
And it seems someone gave you the most likely answer- it may be transmission related- though you say you have a treadle, NOT hst tranny. If it were me I'd certainly check with my dealer or call or email MIE or Messick's and see what they say.
Good luck.

If the camera has a Macro function........it's for close up photography.
