I spent about 3 hours last night plowing snow. Most fun I'd had in weeks. When I got all done, though, my feet were freezing cold. I just have a little grey market compact with no cab.

Some genius among us must have rigged something before to draw heat from somewhere on the tractor down onto his feet. I'd love to hear some ideas on this.

Sounds like you need some good boots like a pair of Sorrel's. I have a pair that are good to -100. A nice used snowmobile suit and a full face mask would work too.

Good boots, wool socks, and silk sock underliners work great for feet. Also, snowmobile helmet with full face shield works great when plowing snow into the wind. Mitts with wool liners are good for the hands too.

Three hours is a LOT of snow plowing.
I plow over ¼ mile and clean up three turnarounds, and 45 minutes is max time to get the job done. You must have a lot of plowing to do, but keeping warm is important to have the most fun possible. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

A few years ago I built a 1/4" think pexi glass as a winter front for my feet. you could see though it and it broke the wind and made a big difference. There is pics here some where.

I too suffer from cold feet (in more ways than one). However for the symptoms you're sufferring from, I start (and end) with this Mystery Door #1 , then I put these on my feet Mystery Door #2 The combo works every time...

I recall seeing simple canvas covers on larger tractors- side curtains that cover the engine on both sides- this would force the warm air back to the driver. I have a Kubota L175 with a curtis windshield- hard top. The canvas side's for this do a good job of keeing heat in.

Hope this helps. nothing worse than cold feet. well almost nothing...

I have had a cold feet problem all my life. Doesn't seem to matter what I wear if it's below 40 my feet are cold. Last winter started using the chemical foot warmer packets available in sporting goods at Wal-Mart.

They work great and aren't that expensive....

I have always heard that if your feet are cold......... put on a hat. Seems the body will shut off the heat to the feet and hands in order to keep the noggin warm. But I also think a good pair of waterproof, insulated boots will help alot.
