Hi all,

So we’ve ended up paving the steep road at our mountain property. This has relegated my PT1430 I purchased last fall to mostly supply mover/transporter type duties that may be better suited for an UTV.

Gauging if there’s any interest in my near new 1430. It’s one of the last units sold with duetz diesel. Reads 75 hours but have left the key on a couple times so true hours are a good bit less. Has the 4in1 bucket, post digger, and custom made pallet forks.

If anybody is interested let me know. I’d only be looking to sell as a complete package. Also welcome input to talk me in/out of the decision to consider to sell.

Nice looking machine.

I've heard of that little trick of leaving the key turned on, putting time on the hour meter. Maybe even tried it out a few times myself.

I did it once, vowed to never do it again. Then my wife did it again, lol.

So I added to the fleet of mountain equipment today. Military order gator, 6x4, diesel with mostly all new running gear.

We’ll see how it does (or more like how quickly) getting up and down our mountain. If all goes to plan it’ll handle the chores of bringing supplies up and down, which is 90% of what the 1430 had been doing the last couple months. Jury is still out and still debating if i’ll be able to get away without having a loader up there though.

Where did you get it from ? Looks nice.

I would think the power track was much more useful. The ability to do more then run up and down the road. Forks on the front with some type of carry all box and a trailer behind with a seat for extra people would make short work of transporting anything up the hill.

Are you mowing around the place? Trails to keep clear? Seams to be much more useful then the gator. The FEL alone is a reason to keep it. Do you have snow? Do you have snow to move? Firewood? Yes the gator will do some of those things but the PT will do more. Yes it is slower but will you really travel far and fast with the gator?

Just thinking out loud.

I was just watching a u-tube and the man is checking his cows with a gator. It kept getting stuck in the snow and the mud. He kept radioing his hand to pull him out with the tractor. Pretty soon I would have been checking cows in the tractor and left the gator in the barn waiting for fair weather.

I picked up the gator from a guy who refurbishes them. Takes them apart, resprays them, mine got a new yanmar, belts, clutches, chains, suspension, seats, tire, etc

All and all the power trac is much more well rounded machine. I realized i’ve failed to mention that i have a small mini ex up there as well that’s far superior for all my ground work. I’ve also come to the conclusion that i won’t ever be doing any mowing with it up there either. It’s only role since getting our road paved was to tote thing up and down the mountain.

The gator will be able to do 90% of that work, more quickly, holding more, all while having two seats. The bed on the military spec gators is awesome! It’s huge and the side fold down into a flat bed. The one thing the gator won’t be able to do is lift things up on its own. I’m half tempted to try to find or make some pallet forks for the mini ex to fill that void.

I’m sure i could find some more uses for the PT, mainly snow removal, but i’m not sure if i’m finding a way of adding up more than just a couple hours/month of use for it no matter how you slice it though.

I’ll have a better read of my situation next trip up the beginning of the month.
