Control of hydrulic motors

But most of the time it will be running full speed
In my experience (about 30 hours/week on Exmark and Husky ZTRs a few summers back working for TGLC and demoing a Tank ZTR), you will rarely be running with BOTH sticks against the stops. 60-75 percent of the time I had one stick further forward to keep the mower going straight. That is ok in a machine with a variable displacement pumps, but it may cause lots of heat with fixed displacement pumps.

On my variable speed pump, there is a [ tow ] nut that you turn, and that opens the relief valve in the pump so fluid can get from the wheel motors through the pump and recirculate . They say to only tow for a short distance, or the hyd fluid will get hot.
