We watch these guys (8) every morning and each day they get closer to the house. Today they were at the solar panels, tomorrow I almost expect to see them in the yard.

I've seen them walk past my window at night before we fenced in the yard and got Akita's. A buddy of mine, who isn't right in the head, will catch them in a live trap and make friends with them. He says that they will try to kill you for just a minute, but if you keep a hold of them, they calm down quickly, and then become very friendly.

Damit Jim, I'm a photographer not an Ornithologist.

My guess is a male house finch. Purple finches are so close I can't be sure.

We have Virginia opossums up here. Harmless and as a bonus, they eat slugs. Which we have too many of.
