It’s been a while since I posted anything on this thread and thought you might like the temp squirrel feeder I made.
I had a big Rubbermaid garbage can filled with cedar shavings and lost the top so put a piece of plywood on it to keep them dry til I need to use them in our planting beds. So instead of just dropping a few handfuls of peanuts by our door and watching blujays and crows swollen them while I put a few 4x4’s on plywood and added another piece of plywood on top with a few bricks to hold or down. Th back side of this little feeder maze is open to our living room and provides us some entertainment too. 3 of these were with their mom as babies hanging on the side of a tree I built a fence next to only a few feet from me last summer. Somehow our cat hasn’t decided to kill any of them (yet) so a few dollars for peanuts and they seem to enjoy this.
when peanuts are gone one of the squirrels sits on top on his or her back legs and hands across chest with that PLEASE LOOK.
it’s open in the front if they choose to enter the maze or done just climb over the back that is about 2 inches from our living room window.
