I have a Craftsman 2000 psi pressure washer I'm repairing since the parts are reasonable. Model 580.762010

I replaced the brass head on it three years ago. We loaned it to now my ex son in law and I think he left it out and froze the spacer body and cracked it. I've got all the parts to reassemble. My question is. What type of oil goes inside the pump. I don't have a service manual. Any help on the oil type would be appreciated. I'm not sure if a synthetic oil is used.or not. The oil also acts as a coolant. I'll post some pictures.

Thanks for the link Ray. I've read in some pumps use a 30w non detergent oil. The oil that came out was rather thick and had a tad of water contamination. Hopefully all these new parts will get back up to snuff without buying a new one. We just had new metal roof installed and the grimy gutters really stand out and need a good cleaning. I'm going to use the detergent injector to presoak the gutters and trim before the final wash. I was pleasantly surprised that parts where still available for it. Thanks again. -kid

I got a 2200psi Sears model with B&S engine and the pump oil I use a a Synthetic Marine 75W-90 gear oil. I researched it back in 2005 when I purchased the unit.

I use SAE 30 Synthetic in the engine

from what i've read, non detergent 30W is what's used in pressure pumps. maybe similar to air compr pumps. synthetic may work just fine too esp in cold weather, but are there "non detergent" synthetics? why not detergent? seal/o ring issues? good luck

It says right in my Briggs and Stratton Engine manual that synthetic oil can be used in the engin. The pump uses a different fluid than the engine on my Sears 2200psi Power Washer.

I've looked everywhere for the oil type and weight for the pump. The manual says use 10W30 for the engine. The manual has parts list and exploded pictures but doesn't mention pump oil. It was very thick and B&S sells a 75W90 pump oil. Just not sure if this 2K sprayer requires it. I'll do some more digging. The gear oil mentioned is pricy and don't mind paying the price. I just want to be sure I use the correct weight.

I think there is a special, pressure washer oil that you can use.

I talked to a parts house about the oil. They said 30W non detergent oil would be fine.
