Over the years I have had some crank up lifts, but this is the first counter balanced model.

It doesn't have the Forks like this:

It has the Boom Option:

They also have a Load Platform Option:

So I added a piece of 3/4 inch plywood to the top of the boom to make my combination load platform and workbench top:

This is stand up workbench height:

I put an "electric motor" on it:

They are handy. I have a 12' Genie. Made kind of a scoop like metal bin that quick attaches to the forks on mine. Stack stuff in, slide in onto the mezzanine. Loosing the front legs gives you some extra flexibility.

Yep, that is one reason I wanted the counterbalanced model. It can getup close to shelves that the long front leg models can't.

Another reason is the front legs on this one are not in the way when it is a sit down workbench:

We had those at my old employer. They were used to remove and install drives in electrical cabinets. The drives were large, used for the electric motors on a newspaper printing press.

Used it today to put a storage box up on top of the storage cabinets:

Yep, very handy. This is the previous one that I had, notice the long front legs compared to the counterbalanced version:

Nice. HVAC guys brought one out to hang a ceiling furnace in the barn.

I made an adapter to use a Bosch 18v drill/driver to raise and lower the table on my Bridgeport type mill. It worked fine for awhile but the discharge rate for that much weight musta weakened the fairly new batteries. Woulda been fine for furniture though...
