Well, fellow sub-compact owners, after almost rolling down the hill today with my 1026r and backhoe, I have decided that it would be nice to leave it in gear and creep up the hill with a hand control instead of my current method of reaching around and pushing the hydro lever with my spare 12" crescent wrench. I'm really busy with my grapple project now, but next on the list really needs to be one of these. I looked at the linkage and John Deere uses two pedals that drive a rotating plate (30) connected to a push rod (11) under the seat. I can see where the torsional damper (14) connects to the input lever (17) under the right side of my seat. It wouldn't be hard to bend up a little lever I could grab under the seat to move backwards and forwards. Does anyone have an idea of how I should build the travel lever? Any safety concerns? Has anyone done this?
