I picked up a cruise control for my BX1850 on ebay from indyusedequipment. They have a few more left. Great dealer! It was a great deal, but took me about 4 hours to install. See picture. It doesn't even show the most difficult part...moving the front drive shaft and fuel pump.

I don't see the CC shaft? Your tractor looked like mine 2 weeks ago.
Anyway- while you have everything apart, There are two things I suggest you do, take the HST bushing out and clean the grease off the bushing and HST shaft. this way you can have all dirt taken out for smooth operation so you can regrease it again with clean grease. Note: you wont be able to take the HST shaft out all the way due to the driveshaft in the way. Be sure you remove the zerk fitting first.

Also the throttle, I see you have no lubricant on the metal plate it rides on. ( its halfway up the picture. I used white teflon spray and I sprayed the plate and the cables. Man what a difference!!!!!! I have to becareful not to pull on the lever hard anymore. Its the plate that causes so much friction when throttling up and down.

The cruise control shaft is not in yet. Thanks for the tips. I'll work on that this weekend.

Interesting. I have cruise on mine and only used it a couple times. I have too many things to mow around, so it really didn't help me. I think with a bigger yard, with fewer obsticals, it would be awesome to have.
