Sounds about right. Per the CC website, the 2542 MSRPs for $3849. "Sale Price: $3499" Pretty much everything in the lineup is marked down. Man have their prices gone up. My 2544 was $2999 just a few years back!

Michael you scared me for a minute. It made me go back and look at my receipt!! Sure enough, the 2544 MSRP'd for $2999 in 2005. My dealer wouldn't budge from MSRP. I paid $2999 + sales tax on 4/18/05. Quite the bargoon I might say! At the same place about a month earlier I hesitated on the purchase of a new leftover 2004 2186 (18hp Vanguard, 42") for $2300. It was gone by the time I came back. Weird how the prices were HIGHER a few years earlier?!?

Joel, I am really amazed at how much lower the prices are now. The difference is huge. My 2518 and your 2544 are the same tractor and I paid $1000 more! I can't complain though, I was actually upgraded. When I bought my Cub I had ordered a 2186. I still remember when it came and it was the 2518 (which is what I wanted but couldn't afford). I told the delivery guy he brought the wrong tractor. He about had a heart attack. SO, I called the dealer and they told me since it was late in the season they couldn't get a 2186. I got the showroom model at no charge. Woo Hoo!
