Before I move forward with buying a new 72” cultipacker for my B2650 HSDC, I need an answer to a question and you may be able to answer off the tops of your heads.

The roller will be used at my house property and mostly on a Bowl-shaped hillside around my pond (moving horizontally across the face of the hill), with a tight turnaround at the end of the pull.

My Issue is “what will work better to stabilize the tractor on the side of the hill and turn around tighter?”

Should I get the pull type hitch? Or the 3pt hitch configuration?

Stabilizing the tractor is more important than the turnaround.

Thanks!

Don't think you'll see much stability difference with either.

Convenience and usability, 3pt, hands down.

Good. I was leaning toward the 3pt, but wanted to confirm. Thanks!

As others say, concerning maneuverability and transport, 3pt is by far the favorite nowadays.

Our EA Xtreme Cultipacker is built very heavy to produce excellent results!

Thanks Travis. Been following your videos for a long time. Love your gear too.

Having or adding weight below the tractor’s center of gravity will stabilize tractor more. Having or adding weight above tractor’s center of gravity will make it easier to tip over.

Whether a 3pth or tow behind makes tractor more stable depends on how high you raise the 3pth at the end of the row.

We use a pull type for many of our 15+ food plots. It is a PITA.

Yep, I've got an 8' pull type that really sucks in tight areas or transporting.....

When I have implements that I cannot lift when cornering, I pull from the drawbar as opposed to the three point that puts all of the stress on the sway link on the outside of the turn. Just be careful of the tire grabbing the tow chain or bar.

Thanks all. I got a 3pt hitch style cultipacker. I fitted it up yesterday and did a test run. Should be perfect.

I am in the midst of liming and tilling it in a new area around a pond. Looks like I have until the 9th of July for any chance of a first rain. Will plant it on the 8th and hope for a good pickle shower.
