Hi All,

Anyone have a Cyclone Rake? If so, how do you like it?

Cyclone Rake Lawn Vacuums: Product Lineup

I'm getting close to finalizing a purchase of a JD 2320. I plan on buying a 54D Mid-Mount Mower, and received pricing on a JD 3-Bag Power Flow for spring and fall leaf pickup. The price came at a whopping $2,100 [including the blower assembly, MCS chute and belt cover kit]. For less money, I can get the top of the line Cyclone for less and it has a much larger capacity and folds flat for storing.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has advice on one of these or a similar brand.

I've had mine since 2004 and used it last year with my BX also with a 54" deck; before that with my garden tractor. Very happy with it and would purchase again. CR makes a great product and is very helpful with questions or if you should have any issues. If you have a lot of planting beds, think about getting the 17' or 32' extension hose. Use mine a lot. Good luck with your purchase decision.

Thanks CHD. I called them yesterday and they were very helpful, and gave me phone numbers of people who own them that live in my town.

i have a Cyclone Rake XL model that I use with my JD 2320 and 62D mower deck.
Works great and I'm very pleased with the setup. I have about 80 trees on 3 acres so it gets a lot of use.
Used it two seasons with no problems.

Thanks Tex,
That's great to hear that it works well with your 2320.

BTW How do you like your 2320? I'm getting close to buying one.

I am very pleased with my 2320
Had a JD 750 till 2008 when I upgraded to the 2320
It's a good size for me - I mow about 3 acres, use the loader for odd jobs.
Have a set of lightweight forks that I use mostly for unloading things like fertilizer - I go to town with pallet in truck, tell them to pile 10 bags of fertilizer on the pallet and unload it with the forks.
Also have a Wallenstein BX 42 chipper I use with the 2320 and that combination works well also.
I know ther are other tractors that are bigger, more powerful, faster etc. But the 2320 does what I want in reasonable time without tearing up the lawn and was easier on my pocketbook.
The 2320 combination with the Cyclone Rake gets the leaves up fast and the 2320 is heavy enough to handle the Cyclone Rake without being pushed around.

I would add - Please consider the 62D mower on the 2320.
The 54 inch mower is too narrow and you will have difficulty mowing close to objects like a fence or wall
Just my suggestion.

Thanks Tex,

I ordered my 2320 yesterday morning! The dealer said it will be about a month for delivery. I went with the 54" because I have some narrow areas in the yard. With that said, I also have a split rail fence and also have a long driveway lined with apple trees with low hanging branches that I mow. I've been able to mow under both areas with the JD LX 279/48" deck that I'm trading in, but the new machine is quite a bit larger, which could be a problem like you mentioned. I'll have to figure that out. Thanks for letting me know about the mower deck.
