I bought what was thought to be a Danuser model 8300-1 hydraulic post hole digger from a tractor dealer. The 8300-1 is for hydraulic flow rates of 5-10 gpm.
After I got it home I was inspecting it and found the serial number tag that identified it as a model 8300-2 that is for hydraulic flow rates of 10-20 gpm. My machine only has a flow rate of 8.7 gpm.
Because it was old stock, I got it at about half price. And since the only difference between the two models is the motor, I want to keep the digger and just change out the motor.
Danuser will not tell me what the Char-Lynn product number is for the 8300-1.
The product number for this 8300-2 is 104 1005 006.
Anybody have a Danuser 8300-1? Could you please take a moment and look at the end of the motor and tell me what the product number is.
thanks

Fisherridge, Attached are a couple of photos of the motor. As I understand it, if you swap down, you will get more speed but less torque. If this is what you want, might you be interested in a swap? my unit has deilled in 16 fence posts since it was brand new but my soil is rocky and the torque is of interest to me.

ddaacc,
Thanks for the information.
I may be interested in a trade.
I knew my unit was old stock when I got it but I didn't know exactly how old.
The dealer just said he had had it for a while.
It turns out that it left the Danuser factory in 1993.
The code on the motor indicates that it was manufactured in late 1992.
So I need to hook it up first and see if it even works.
I'll definitely let you know.

Thanks again,
fisherridge
