Kubota L3830 GST
How much difference is there between these two machines? Will one do something the other won't? I would assume the L4330 will be slightly faster and stronger, but for light/medium duty work will I ever really notice the difference? The work would include pulling a 6' bush hog and light FEL work.

I went and looked at John's NH 1920 last night. It's a good machine. I am still thinking about getting it, but he mentioned getting a L4330 for not that much more than my L3830. Just wondering if would be worth the extra money. I think it would be around $1500 more I think.

Thanks,
Dave

Given the tractor's weighing about the same, the only place I can imagine you'd see or feel the difference would be in the PTO or a few pounds greater lift on the 3PH and FEL. 5 hp isn't much.

The capacities are all the same, but you do get that extra 5Hp and a bit more hydrolic flow. Will you know the difference on light duty work, probably not.

Missed somthing, they take diferent loaders. its the 723 vs 853. Should be around 300lbs lift difference there.

The additional capacity of the LA853 loader was one of the main considerations that caused me to go with the 4330 vs 3830. Plus, I went HST, and the extra cylinder/HP made up for the slight PTO HP loss due to the HST. On the other hand, many here have stated that the 3 cyl is smoother/quieter than the 4, and fuel consumption is a bit less.... But I am totally happy with my 4330!

Here's my take on it. I've stated it a couple of times, but it still pretty much applies. The primary difference, and it can be a big difference is the loader. Not so much in lift capacity, that is something that believe it or not, is relatively less important in my opinion. The biggest difference is in it's lift height. It's great enough (11.2") to allow you to easily load a dumpster or not. It also explains why it needs the extra beef. Dump angles etc, are similar. The L3830 and L4630 actually share the same rear end and gear ratios, the L4330 has it's own set. Other then that, there is a 4 HP PTO increase on the L4330 over the L3830. I'm finding the L3830 with HST to be plenty strong to run my 84" finish mower even up my relatively steep hills. If the loader lift height is important to you, the price difference not an issue, I would opt for the L4330 or larger, it is definitely a bonus.
