I have a 1968 MF 40 with a non functioning dif lock. It is a long lever you pull on the R side. The big MF32 loader frame attaches to the rear axles and I assume I need to pull it off as well as the axle bolts to get to the goodies inside. I am assuming something is broken or sheared inside preventing me from locking the wheels. So I get stuck a lot. Trying to lock one wheel with the R/L brake pedals isn't an option because they barely work. This tractor had an engine and tranny rebuild before I bought it and runs beautifully and I hate to think about selling it and buying a 4wd which will have its own issues. I would rather fix something than replace something. Any recommendations?

Recommendations? Just one...I recommend you post your question in the Massey Ferguson Forum rather than a John Deere Forum.
