A lot of the ability to pull the disk is dependent on how much offset you dial into the disks. You can increase the drag a great deal with a heavy offset. Dial the offset back and you will need a lot less HP to pull them.

Less offset = dirt not dug as deep and not turned over as well. Also how the terrain is. You aren't going to be able to pull any where as big of a disk uphill as you can on flat ground.
