I need to change out the oil in my DK50 front axle. I skipped this at the 50 hr but want to hit it now that I made 100.

As far as I can tell, this process is nowhere in the service manual. So I want to be sure I find all the drain plugs, level checking plug(s) and fill plug(s).

I would greatly appreciate a good description of this process and maybe a pic or two if you have them. Maybe this info - or even a video :) :) :) could be added to the
Kioti How To site?

Thanks

There are 2 drain points and 1 fill point. On mine the 2 drains are located at the bottom of each swivel point nearer the tires. My caps are painted yellow. The fill plug is located on the right side of axle ontop,(as viewed when seated in tractor). Best to change when warm. I had to inject air in the fill port to completely drain the axle. I also had to jack up each end and remove both front wheels inorder to get pan underneath snd not to get fluid all over everything.

There is a sight glass on the left side. Be warned, fill a little less than specs call for and check level after youve driven it alittle while. 90 weight oil takes awhile to filter through the entire system, and you can overfill real easy.

What grs said, AND the sight glass should read the correct fluid fill level when the white ball is centered in the red circle, when the tractor is completely level. This can take a couple of tries to get right, so exercise patience. Don't overfill, it can result in blown seals that can then cause wallet opening and emptying.

Spot on above. No need to take your wheels off, I fashioned a little catch / diverter out of a piece of metal flashing in about two minutes. It lays on my drain pan and catches the fluid, no mess, no spills ezpz.

I don't have a DK, but aren't there three drains?; one on each bevel gear case(wheel pivot) and one on the bottom of the differential gear case

Yes, I forgot about that one. Below is the simple little thing I fashioned to catch the fluid. Works perfect ( the fluid doesn't rush out, just drops straight down). I need to clean my tractor.

I don't remember there being 3 on front axle. I think just the the two.

My two pennies:
pop the top off the swivel housing (4 bolts) and fill directly into the axle housing. You have a way bigger hole to hit and it's faster.

When you first refill the front axle, you are likely to have air pockets around the gears. So drive it a bit and then recheck the oil level,
