Neighbors yorkie would run up under her and go for what ever she could reach. I would hold gypsy's head up by her collar so she couldn't get a hold of it. Then sweep my foot and tap the dog. Dog would yip and take off.
Last time she ran up on the attack I missed her when I swept with my left foot. I then stepped forward and swept with my right. Knocked the yorkie into the ditch which was half full of water. That sure took the fight out of it. Won't come after us anymore either. If I had known that was all it took, I would have punted it into the ditch a couple years ago.
It's odd how people expect you to keep your dog under control, yet think that it's funny when their yapper harrasses your pet.
