Drill / Tool Grinder $$ ?

I was wondering if anyone knew the value of this thing? Dorthy the widowed owner of the metal shop I frequent and plasma cut parts at has a customer who wants to buy it. She has no idea what price to ask. The motor is a 208 three phase. I think it's a drill / tool sharpener on steroids. If it were single phase I'm sure there would be more of a demand for it, hence maybe a higher price. If anyone can suggest a fair price I'll pass on the recommendation.

I had no idea it was worth that much. I was thinking a couple of hundred bucks I was off by a mile. Dorothy will be thrilled to learn it's value. Now if the buyer is still interested.......

Larry I looked around and the only thing I see that might be a hang up is the 3 phase situation?

Thanks for those links. Looks like the "Much Cheaper" one does not have all the fine tune adjustment wheels and knobs. Must be the "stripped down" version? I think I have what I need so my friend Dorothy can set a fair price. The potential buyer knows it's three phase as it will be used in a machine shop. He was trying to "low ball" Dorothy into a ridiculously low price. She just did not have any idea of it's real value. I'm thinking in the range of 1,400 - 1,600.

Larry I know nothing about these type of tools, but would think that you are right on with the pricing you came up with. Even putting it on Ebay or Craigs List might find a buyer as well.

It is never easy for someone like Dorthy to have to deal with selling tools, wish her the best.

That tool grinder is a pretty nice piece of equipment ! That is an industrial type grinder that would be frequently found in a a large tool crib that did their own tool grinding ! Many years ago when I was serving my apprenticeship I spent a good deal of time infront of something quite similar, and ground many a large drill bit. Depending on how much we took off the end of the drill, we sometimes had to thin out the web of the drill also !

Anyways, for somone that has a legitimate use for some thing like that, its worth a few bucks !
