Zetor C-42 with HL50 loader
So I have an HL50 loader..now the dumb question. Besides indicating movement, what is that ball on the stick supposed to be doing??

I mean it really doesn't tell me when the bucket is level, cause it isnt marked, doesnt tell me what angle the arms are at either, book doesnt say squat about it.

Has anyone devised a marking system using the ball on the stick to tell them where their loader is at??

If so please share it with me..

rameye,

There is no such thing as a dumb question------but there are dumb answers.
Judge for yourself how this answer rates:
Many ag loaders have this gauge rod attached---I have found that is useful ,primarily for digging or when trying to get a bucket-full of dirt-gravel- sand. If you set the bucket flat on the ground, when the tractor and bucket are sitting on flat ground, then put a mark on the loader arm where you can see it, next to the ball, ( top of the rod)---then you will know approximately---what the bucket angle is, when you begin to dig, without leaning over, trying to see if you have the correct bucket angle.
That's the best I can explain it-----dumb answer???

Thats what I figured...however I was hoping maybe somebody had a pearl of wisdom, some olde axiom or something. Honestly cant figure out why they dont mark the stick up at the factory.

You know.. line up these marks and your arms are level...line up these and your bucket is level...etc.

go figure... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The pearl of wisdom is that there is no old axiom for this----simply because the angles will change depending on which model of tractor the C50 loader is installed on, and primarily which tire option is purchased. (ie: the ag tires and wheels make the tractors sit significantly taller than the industrials or the turfs.) And this would make any factory pre-set marking useless. Also the eye level of the operator will make a difference.
