I recived an email today that Eastwood has their own plasma cutter coming out. Anyone know if this is a good machine or who makes it for them? Its selling for $640 - I like the idea of a 110/240 machine. Severs up to 3/8"

You should check out just about every other brand 1st. lots of 110v / 230v units out there for not much more $ that will sever 3/4". What is the amp output of the Clint Eastwood model?

I believe its 15 amp. Any recommendations? which one will sever 3/4"?

Scotty,

15 amps would be very hard to cut 3/8". And for a chinese plasma cutter, one that size seems very expensive.

here are some spec's.
110 or 220 volt AC input- complete portability
Operates off standard home or shop type air compressor
Cuts thin gauge steel, stainless or aluminum easily while also handling up to 3/8 thick material
Inverter technology offers superior arc stability and power
Eastwood quality with our 3 year no hassle warranty program
Duty Cycle 50% at 40 amps
Eastwood's Versa Cut Plasma Cutter will allow you to easily make clean cuts through steel. This unit has many features including voltage sensing technology which allows you to plug into either a 110v or 220v outlet with our adapter cord all while operating on a minimum 15 Amp circuit at 50/60 hertz. It incorporates an internal moisture separator to ensure dry air is delivered to the torch. Cutting abilities are endless going as thin as 24 gauges and up to 3/8in steel. Air requirements for this unit range from 20-65 psi depending on the material thickness. The torch measures 20' while the ground clamp measures 10'. Even with all these great features the complete unit comes in weighing less than 30lbs.

I am looking for a home plasma cutter in the $500 - $600 or so range. Any suggestions?

Eastwood is expensive. Nice stuff to look at, but it's generally not too hard to find equivalent cheaper elsewhere.

I would look at the everlast lineup.

I have the PP60 and it seems quite under rated in that it performs better than stated in the specs.

They have machines in your price range that are specified to sever 3/4" steel.

Looks pretty pricey for what you get and what about consumables? I'de sure look at others before buying and get feedbacks from buyers. I wouldn't consider it, and just bought a new one.

I recognize the "factory". Be careful. Price isn't that good...

It is imported from China with an italian torch. No telling where you will get parts and service from. You can get an American made Hypertherm Powermax30 for around $1000. Parts and service will always be avaialable from the largest manufacturer in the world...here in the US... of plasma cutting equipment from 30 to 1000 amps....for cutting from gauge to 6-1/4"thickness.

If the budget does not allow it....I see used Hypertherm units on Craigslist daily for less money....yet they still have factory support from an American owned company.
