Tractor
Case 580K 4x4
Greetings,
Can anybody help identify which importer this tractor came through?

Ebay item number 402350337747 (apparently I can't post links yet...)

There isn't any paint on the radiator hoses, or wiring, so I'm hoping it's not a Vietnamese unit.

I have never heard of a Load Master FEL, and apparently, neither has Google.

I have seen several similar tractors being sold through Bidadoo over the last few months...

Thoughts?

Thanks!
Brian

Note the comment 'grease in front axle in place of oil'. That may have been the fix for what should have been new seals.

I think that's the usual VN loader.

I wouldn't buy a 40 year old tractor without test driving it. Shipping to NE will be substantial, so returning it for refund would leave you out quite a bit after paying freight both ways.

Too much of a gamble, if I were you! Somebody in LA could afford to bid it up to full value after seeing it in person. For a remote bid, that would be risky.

If you can provide the serial number Yanmar corporate can probably identify the importer if that information is relevant in any way. As far as the tractor itself, there's no way I would touch it sight unseen.

Not in this case. Yanmar USA and Yanmar-Japan won't acknowledge Yanmars that were 'reconditioned' in some sweatshop in Vietnam that has zero access to genuine Yanmar parts. ie, one cobbled together from used, third-party, or hand made parts. Then painted better-than-new and brought over here by gray-market sellers that aren't franchised Yanmar dealers. Most of the VN 'rebuilts' turn out to be ok because Yanmars are near indestructible. But each one is a unique gamble. Despite the museum-grade paint job. That grease instead of oil in the front axle is a sign that it was too much nuisance to fix it so it wouldn't dribble. Anything on that tractor could have a similar workaround where a real repair was called for.

Fredricks in Alabama is the ONLY company in the US authorized by Yanmar to recondition Yanmars they import, using genuine parts. Their reputation is flawless, their Yanmars are literally as good as a new tractor and there is no risk buying remotely. Any other unauthorized importer, buyer beware.

Thanks for the info, gang.

So it IS most likely a VN recon?

I really want to buy one of the 2 2210BD's that Fredricks has right now, but I can't swing the cost at this time. My daughter lives in Kentucky, so I would just plan to go pick the tractor up and visit her in the same trip.

Thanks again!

If you can't swing the cost of a good tractor. I sure wouldn't risk of throwing money away for a tractor from VN.
It is your money though..
Good Luck

I too picked up a Fredricks UTDA Yanmar YM2610.

The real question is, why get a mere 2-cly Yanmar??? The YM1720D has the 3-cly, OE power steering, and power-shift.

The answer to what "get a mere 2 cylinder yanmar" because the things are proven, simple and basically bulletproof! If you only need a tractor in the 15-25 hp range I would want one of these proven engines.

Welcome home! We haven't seen you for a while. I hope all is well there.

I agree, YM2000 and especially YM2210 are simple, indestructible, ideal for what they are.
