Electric pressure washer reviews

I had an electric one for many years. It was a Handy 1000 psi model with 2 gpm. It was good enough, but with only 2 gpm. it was slow going.

I washed part of the concrete drive with it. It works best when the concrete is wet from a long soaking rain. The dirt comes up much easier then.

All you TBNers that own one, does it perform adequately for basic equipment cleaning and concrete drives?

What kind works best for the money?
TIA
We have had several of the electric and a gas powered pressure washers. We use the gas-powered one most of the time. The electric is OK and definitiely beats garden hose pressure for a third the price of the gas powered one.

We use the electric sometimes.....mostly when we are being lazy or want to make sure it is not going to be stripping paint or destroying things with pressure.

But the gas powered one has about 5x the power on high, and it also has a multiple orifice outlet that lets it use less power when that is better. So it does both high and low pressure where the electric only really does low in spite of what they advertise.

Both types have downsides. Gas engines have the gasoline problems; electrics are lesspower and aren't built as well and go wrong sooner.

Pressure washers are a type of tool where you really get what you pay for.
Our next one will be Honda powered and have an upgraded wand with a more flexible hose. It will not be electric, but probably cost 3 or 4 times as much.

I have the Greenworks Pro 3000psi.

Works really well for all applications I've tried... Even with the surface cleaner attachment.

I have an old Karcher. Works fine for me for the 40 or so hours I use it each year.
Put it away dry so no freezing water in it and it works fine, albeit slow.
I use on pool surround and walkways so mostly cement, sometimes for wood deck and quick shot to windows.
I've had it about 7 years now.
I think sometimes it's the luck of the draw on how long they last.
that and how people take care of them. I feel like my ryobi has lasted the 6-7 years because I use air to blow the pump out dry then shoot a little oil in it and store it in the basement. Any washer I haven’t blow and oiled needed unloader valves replaced from corrosion.

I have a STIHL electric and a big giant gas powered monster. Haven’t fired up the gas one in over a year. The electric one does just fine for most of my needs. Much easier to pull out and use and then put away8

I had a Ryobi electric for about a year. It was my first pressure washer. I used it to spray goose & chicken poop off the patio and blast algae out of horse water buckets. It died after about a year. I replaced it with a Harbor Freight gas model, and the HF is a beast. It’s twice as fast, and starts first pull. I really prefer the gas model.

Electric power washers will do the job but they will be slower than gas powered. As long as you don't have too much to do, they are very effective. You see all kinds of strange advertising for "psi" but the key is to get up to the 13 to 15 amp power and a range of nozzles.

I recently replaced an old Karcher that had become weak with a Westinghouse from Amazon.

Westinghouse PW

The brand name doesn't mean anything now, of course, since they have mostly been sold off to Chinese companies, but this one has worked very well. It cleans concrete very well using the "turbo" nozzle. The four wheel design works better than the two wheel cart configuration. I got an extra 25 feet of hose to get easier access over large areas.
That really depends on the "electric" pressure washer.

I have access to one electric pressure washer and own the other.

The electric pressure washer at work is 220 volt, has an natural gas burner and runs two wands at once on less oomph, or one wand and will talk the paint off a vehicle But I'm assuming your looking for something similar to what I have at home.

The one I own, is a $99 homeowner special from Sam's club. Made by Karcher. Pretty much the same specs as all the other brands.

Works good for what it is, and light enough to drag around the house to wash the siding. I really like the fact it has a pressure switch, and will shut off the pump when idle, and kick it back on when the trigger is squeezed.

That's really nice when washing a vehicle.

And it's quiet.

I'll soak the concrete with a garden hose and then spray degreaser on it with a garden sprayer before pressure washing.

I'll usually pick up a 5 gallon jug of the purple degreaser from either Lowes or home depot and mix 50/50 with water.

I have 3 gas pressure washers. They do a great job, picked em up for cheap as they needed pump repairs. BUT if I'm say on my roof pressure washing and run out of fuel my wife can fuel em but has not enough umpth to pull the starter. Recently I picked up a Electric start gas one. It has a small battery on top she can fuel it, push the starter button and I'm back in business. I love it. 3300 lbs pressure,7.25 hp I gave 100 bucks for it and put a 14 dollar carb on it. Now I don't use any of my other ones.
