Loader Exhaust soot on loader

ZEP Industrial Purple available at Home Depot. Use full strength but don't let it on for more than about 2 minutes. It will take the paint off if left on too long.

You can dilute it 4 parts water to 1 part purple cleaner and it will work just as well.

BTW: Most of the cleaners of this type say not to use on bare aluminum or at least it use too.

Yes, you're correct about diluting it 4 to 1. I just never bothered to do that when degreasing the tractor. I am a retired school bus mechanic & when we cleaned engines ZEP Industrial Purple is what we used & we used it straight. And you had to work fast with it or it took paint & all off! But those engine compartments were all spick & span by the end of summer! (And a few valve covers got a re-paint as well)

In my current job I just drive bus now. (Have summers off)! But I clean the inside of the bus at the end of the school term. I used that Industrial Purple on the floor, diluted as you said. If I let it on more than about 5 minutes I could see the color start coming out of the linoleum.

I fit a 1-1/4 inch 45 degree copper elbow onto the end of the pipe and pointed it downward, away from the loader arm and bucket. The soot problem is gone but the exhaust does kick up more dust and dirt if the conditions are dry.

Thank you! The 1-1/4 inch 45 degree copper elbow went on nice and tight and I will have less time cleaning the exhaust soot on my loader and snowblower on my B2650!

I put a piece of exhaust pipe with a bend in it to redirect the exhaust on my BX2360. No more soot on the loader but it sure makes the dust fly when driving in dry dirt. I don't know which one is worse. I think I will deal with the soot, it doesn't take long to clean off. I use spray 9 to clean it off.

Not an issue with my model tractor and loader...soot never exits on loader frame.

Cleans up well with WD-40. Very easy solution.

Betcha wish you had a Tier 4 now huh?

Yup. My 3350 doesn't smell like a diesel but it doesn't soot up either
