Try to figure out whats missing, there's a bit too much shaft/joint up/down more so with steering post plastic removed. There is a circlip 04612-00160 missing at the bottom of shaft although I don't see how that would eliminate all the play. I recall on my F3060 replacing the pipe steering K3611-41150 (f3080) resolved that with post plastic installed. Attached pics u can see the amount of travel as well as the pipe steering. It appears the pipe steering may be missing some rubber, not sure. Any thoughts, Thanks.

There's too much play the spline end slides up/down in the joint, the F3060 there are 2 set screws top/bottom of joint, F3080 only one at the bottom of the joint. So, the top side of the joint shaft bottom of the shaft/spline slides up and down freely. Where would there be a weld failed?

The F30060 you can adjust the amount of spline in the joint to line up with where the pipe steering rests on the panel 020/030. Perhaps I just use that joint instead. You can see the pipe steer are different part#'s and dwg size they are 2 different sizes.

Anyway you can see image 1 the pipe steering which appears to be missing some rubber on the bottom side.

I think he means in the first pic on the left side where the shaft meets what looks like the steering wheel we can see daylight on the other side of the shaft. but I think that is just the tube meeting with the steering pipe item 210. I think you mean up and down movement on the splines, funny how they only have one set screw. there are bushings and circlips that support the shaft going through the tube. Is there a hole to put a set screw in the bottom of the joint.

I'm guessing something is wrong with the bushings or clips because I think those are what limit the up and down movement of the shaft. items 180/190/200

Messick delivery is on the way I did order a few items including the bottom circlip which may help the downward motion a bit. That slight daylight is the top of the shaft. I'm surprised it moves an inch up/down and no set screw on the bottom side like the 3060. Thanks

top circlip will limit downward movement and the bottom circlip will limit upward movement. there should be a shoulder on the bushings that catch the tube the shaft goes through.

Bingo, it was the circlip, issue resolved. The original was there but had been stretched wider than the groove.
